Encoche
Scan your books, note your page, pick up anywhere.
Coming to the App Store · iPhone, iOS 17 and later

- Scan the barcode
- The book arrives with its title, author, cover and page count. Recent French editions too: the lookup queries Google Books, the BnF, the SUDOC and Open Library.
- Note the page when you stop
- One field, one button. Your progress updates, and the history keeps a record of every reading session.
- Write a line or two about what you just read
- Reopen the book two weeks later and that summary sits at the top of its page. Enough to carry on without rereading the previous chapters.
- Read on a timer, with an ambience
- Pick a length, pick a sound — rain, night forest, a soft pad — and a quiet chime marks the end. Five more minutes if the plot deserves it.
- Everything on all your devices
- A page noted on your phone shows up elsewhere right away. Signing in uses your Apple account: no password, no form.
What Encoche doesn't do
- No advertising, no trackers, no selling of data.
- No profiling: what you read is yours alone.
- No social network: your library is visible only to you.
